Indication of Kindical-DX Tablet

• Treatment and prevention of osteoporosis, osteomalacia, tetany, hypoparathyroidism, and disorders of osteogenesis.
• Supplement in cases of inadequate intake of calcium in childhood diet, rickets, pregnancy, lactation, and elderly patients.
• Other indications include pancreatitis, phosphate binder in chronic renal failure, etc.

Pharmacology

• Adequate Calcium in the blood is vital for various bodily functions and is useful for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis and associated fractures.
• Vitamin D aids in Calcium absorption from the GI tract and stimulates bone formation.
• Calcium and vitamin D have synergistic effects on bone growth, osteoporosis, and fracture prevention.

Dosage & Administration of Kindical-DX Tablet

• One tablet once or twice daily with plenty of water or as directed by the physician, preferably taken with a full stomach.
• Take Kindical DX as advised by your doctor, swallowing it whole without chewing, crushing, or breaking it. It may be taken with or without food, but consistency in timing is recommended.

Overdose Effects:

• Hypervitaminosis D and hypercalcemia may occur.
• Symptoms include anorexia, thirst, nausea, vomiting, constipation, muscle weakness, fatigue, mental disturbances, and in severe cases, cardiac arrhythmias.
• Treatment includes discontinuation of calcium, rehydration, and monitoring of serum electrolytes and renal function.

Interaction

Thiazide diuretics, systemic corticosteroids, ion exchange resins, laxatives, tetracycline preparations, cardiac glycosides, bisphosphonates, sodium fluoride, oxalic acid, and phytic acid may interact with calcium and vitamin D.

Contraindications

Hypercalcemia and hyperparathyroidism, hypercalciuria and nephrolithiasis, hypersensitivity to the components, severe renal insufficiency, and concomitant digoxin therapy.

Pregnancy & Lactation

• Daily intake should not exceed specified levels during pregnancy and lactation.
• High doses of vitamin D should be avoided due to potential adverse effects on the developing fetus.
• Caution should be exercised when prescribing additional vitamin D to breastfed infants.

Precautions & Warnings

• Serum calcium levels and renal function should be monitored during long-term treatment.
• Caution is advised in elderly patients, those with renal impairment, sarcoidosis, and immobilized patients with osteoporosis.
• Vitamin D should be used cautiously in patients with impaired renal function, with consideration of soft tissue calcification risk.
